SAPRA designated Public Benefit Organisation
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the South African Pagan Rights Alliance (SAPRA) has been designated by the South African Revenue Service as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) engaged in public benefit activities.
As a PBO, SAPRA is now a Tax Exempt Institution and donations made to SAPRA are now tax-deductible.
The eligibility to issue section 18A receipts is restricted to certain Tax Exempt Institutions (incl. PBOs, Public Institutions, Government Departments, and Specialized UN Agencies) that use the donations to carry on or fund specific Public Benefit Activities in South Africa.
Note:
a “public benefit organization” constituted as a “non-profit company” as defined in section 1 of the Companies Act 71 of 2008
“section 18A receipt” means a special receipt containing prescribed information issued under section 18A by a section 18A-approved organization entitling the donor to an income tax deduction for a donation made.
